As the first country in Southeast Asia and the second Asian country to bring the original Carmen to the domestic art stage with careful investment from preparation, personnel, techniques, orchestra to Vietnamese singing voice, it has affirmed its strong development capacity in organizing academic art programs at international level. More than 70 tons of props and costumes have been transported directly from France, along with a cast of 120 leading French Opera artists appearing in Hanoi, the space of Ho Guom Theater decorated with 12 thousand velvet roses, the show that Techcombank exclusively sponsors promises to be an international-class cultural gift for the public and customers.

The show is a dense preparation with the high-intensity frequency of more than 120 artists, singers, dancers from the French National Opera House, and the director, technician, stage design, top costumes. Director Romain Gilbert - who "commanded" for this play, shared his feelings during the countdowns to the show: "Me and E -kip are very excited for the upcoming two nights. We appreciate the opportunity to cooperate with you. All are very professional and beyond our expectations of a scale event like this - first organized in Vietnam."
Under the direction of the French director, the Ho Guom Theater stage will recreate the space of the ancient city of Seville 150 years ago - where music, light and movement blend in a multi-layered space, rich in visual depth.
Restored by the Versailles Royal Theater, the French International Music Center Palazzetto Bru Zane and the Rouen Normandie Theater, the play will take audiences through musical groups that are familiar to many Vietnamese audiences, many of whom may not know that those groups are excerpts from the classic Opera Carmen.

Not only fully recreating the spirit of original works such as Carmen from the Paris stage 150 years ago, Techcombank and the Organizing Committee continue to bring an artistically-filled reception space, with iconic items such as roses.
In the work, Carmen once threw a rose at Jose as a province, and also a catalyst for love between two people. Therefore, the organizing committee used thousands of velvet roses and decorative colors with red as the main color. Tens of thousands of imported roses - symbols of love, beauty and endless passion, are cleverly arranged, not only beautifying the entire theater area, but also helping guests to "play the role", entering the world of Carmen right from the reception hall.
Behind that overwhelming beauty is more than 70 tons of decorations, props and costumes - many of which are restored from original fabric models from the last century, or handcrafted based on lost materials and motifs. All were selected by the French crew and transported to Vietnam, in the spirit of fully preserving the original value of the classic Opera.
With this play, we absolutely respect the original Carmen in the spirit of a play first performed 150 years ago that is, what artist Bizet released to the public in 1875 in the 19th century was fully and completely recreated on the contemporary stage. This is an in-depth research work, requiring a close combination of history, logic and art. Most notably, all props are prepared by the French and are very meticulous and sophisticated" - artist Nguyen Thanh Tung shared.
