From May 5 - 9, 2026, within the framework of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to the Republic of India and the Socialist Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka, the working delegation of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) led by General Director Nguyen Huu Tu has implemented many activities to connect businesses, promote trade and technical cooperation in the fields of fertilizers, agricultural chemicals and green chemicals.
The delegation included Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - General Director of Ha Bac Fertilizer and Chemical Joint Stock Company, Mr. Do Van Tuan - General Director of Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company and representatives of leaders of professional departments.
Connecting strategic partners in the Indian market
In New Delhi, Vinachem worked with leading corporations of India - the 4th largest economy in the world. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with Indian Potash Limited (IPL) on the supply of potassium, DAP, NPK and specialized fertilizers; and discussed with Future Chem Agro about pesticides and biological products. These are all businesses that play a key role in the agricultural supply chain in India.
Notably, Vinachem spent time learning about ACME Group's battery energy storage system (BESS). This is a solution to optimize renewable electricity to produce hydrogen and green ammonia, opening up a new direction for the Group in reducing emissions.
Impressions of economic diplomacy in Sri Lanka
Continuing its journey in Colombo, Vinachem is honored to carry out the task of donating 100 tons of urea and superphosphate fertilizers - a meaningful gift from the Party, State and People of Vietnam to the Government and People of Sri Lanka. High-quality products from Ha Bac Fertilizer and Southern Fertilizer not only support agriculture in the friendly country but are also a symbol of solidarity between the two nations.
Within the framework of the Vietnam - Sri Lanka Trade - Investment - Tourism Cooperation Forum, Vinachem introduced a product ecosystem from fertilizers to rubber and tires to more than 300 businesses. This series of activities in South Asia not only expands the export market for Vinachem but also actively contributes to economic diplomacy, towards sustainable development and modernization of Vietnam's chemical industry.
