Researching and seeking investment opportunities for the Gia Lai Wind Power Plant Complex project. The agreement marks an important step forward in VinEnergo's strategy to expand investment in renewable energy projects, and affirms Vingroup's strong commitment to accompanying the locality in promoting green transformation, towards sustainable development goals.
According to the cooperation agreement, the two sides agreed to establish close coordination and support relations to implement research and field survey activities, towards investing in the construction of Gia Lai Wind Power Plant Cluster with two phases, with a leading scale in the region.
Phase 1 of the project is expected to be implemented with a total capacity of about 2,000 MW and will be expanded to about 3,000 MW in phase 2. The successful implementation of the project in two phases will create a huge clean energy complex, supplementing abundant and stable power sources for the national power system, meeting the increasing energy demand.
The total expected investment capital for the entire project is about 210,000 billion VND (equivalent to nearly 8 billion USD), which is expected to become a strong driving force for socio-economic development for Gia Lai province. Through the development of clean energy sources, the project will significantly contribute to reducing environmental pollution, responding to global climate change and ensuring national energy security in the long term.

Currently, VinEnergo is deploying simultaneous investment in many large-scale renewable energy projects in localities such as: Ky Anh Wind Power Plant (Ha Tinh, designed capacity 400 MW); Eco Wind Ky Anh Wind Power Plant (Ha Tinh, designed capacity 498 MW); Hon Trau - Phase 1 Wind Power Plant (Gia Lai, designed capacity 750 MW); Vinh Thuan Wind Power Plant (Gia Lai, designed capacity 143 MW), Dien Bien 1 Solar Power Plant (Dien Bien, designed capacity 300 MW); Ban Chat 1 Float Solar Power Plant (Lai Chau, designed capacity 250 MW); Ban Chat 2 Float Solar Power Plant (Lai Chau, designed capacity 300 MW).
With the orientation of expanding operations globally, VinEnergo has announced its goal of developing 100 GW of renewable energy in the next 3 years in core international markets such as North America, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, and researching other potential markets such as Central Asia and Africa. VinEnergo has now reached agreements to implement the first international project portfolios in Denmark, Sweden, and the Philippines with a total capacity of 10GW, affirming the capacity and prestige of Vietnam's leading renewable energy enterprise in the international arena. /.
