However, buying plain round gold rings or SJC gold bars at this time is still difficult. Many stores only sell a small amount of gold rings each day and do not announce the selling time in advance. Meanwhile, most stores have stopped selling SJC gold bars.
Lining up early when the gold shop on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi) had not opened yet to wait to buy gold rings, Ms. Pham Thu Huyen (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) - shared: "For the past few months, buying gold rings has been very difficult.
Many times I came to this gold shop and waited to buy a few rings. Today, I still come and wait but I don't know if I can buy any more or not."
Similar to Ms. Huyen, Mr. Le Van Duong (living in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi) also said he planned to buy 2-3 taels of plain round gold rings but encountered many difficulties.
"I waited for many days but missed the time when the store sold gold rings. When I arrived, they were all sold out. When I didn't have time to wait in line, the staff said the store was not selling any.
Today, I've been waiting since morning, when the store hadn't opened yet, they announced that they were not selling. However, there were still a lot of people lining up in front, so maybe I'll have to wait a little longer" - Mr. Duong said.
An employee of a gold shop on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi) said: "Currently, the quantity of gold rings is very scarce. For many days now, the shop has stipulated that one person can only buy a certain quantity per day.
The day before, we only sold 1 round gold ring to one person. This morning, as soon as people started waiting, we announced that we would not sell, but they still lined up. If customers want to sell, we buy normally, but there are very few cases of selling."
According to records, right in front of this gold trading store, there are many people waiting to buy and sell. Every time a customer comes to trade, they will stop in front to ask about their needs, then solicit to buy back or sell at a higher price than the listed price at the store.
"If people want to sell, I will buy it back for 50,000 VND/tael more than the store price" - said a person waiting to buy gold.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter about this issue, a media representative of a gold, silver and gemstone trading enterprise warned: "Currently, we have not received any feedback from customers, but such hand-to-hand trading has many potential risks. Customers may buy fake or poor quality goods. Because they actively trade, the store will not be able to intervene."
Gold price update
As of 2:40 p.m. on November 19, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by DOJI Group at VND82 - 85 million/tael (buy - sell). The difference between the buying and selling prices of SJC gold at DOJI Group was VND3 million/tael.
Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of SJC gold at 83 - 85 million VND/tael (buy - sell). The difference between the buying and selling price of SJC gold at Saigon SJC Jewelry Company is at 2.3 million VND/tael.
At the same time, the price of 9999 Hung Thinh Vuong round gold ring at DOJI was listed at 83.7 - 84.7 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
Bao Tin Minh Chau also adjusted the price of plain round gold rings to increase to 83.78 - 84.68 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The world gold price listed on Kitco at 11:25 on November 19 (Vietnam time) is at 2,620.4 USD/ounce.
