Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh (Hanoi) said: "I opened a savings book at the beginning of the year to bring luck for the new year, but unexpectedly, the bank gave me a red lucky money. The amount is not much, but having luck at the beginning of the year still makes me happy and lucky."
Similarly, Ms. Le Thanh Hang (HCMC) shared on her personal Facebook: "Every year, I try to save money right after Tet to bring luck. Today, I just opened my savings book and received lucky money from the bank, I feel like the new year is starting smoothly."
Choosing the first day of spring to save money has long become a habit of many people, with the belief that saving money at the beginning of the year will bring financial convenience all year long.
An LPBank employee shared that the number of customers opening savings accounts increased significantly on the first working day after Tet.
Ms. Tran Kieu Oanh (Ha Nam) shared: "I still save some of the bonus I received before Tet, waiting until the beginning of the year to deposit it in the bank to be sure. Depositing it right on the first day of spring will give me a stable interest rate and make me feel that my finances will be smoother during the year."
Without announcing flashy programs, many banks have maintained the tradition of giving lucky money to customers who come to do transactions at the beginning of the year. For example, SHB, every first day of the year, will give lucky money to the first customers, creating small but meaningful joy.
A bank representative shared: "The bank gives lucky money to the first 30 customers/day on the first and last days of the program (ie the 6th working day to start the new year and the 10th day of the God of Wealth day).
In addition, we will also give lucky money to the first 15 customers/day for 3 days in the middle of the program (ie the 7th, 8th and 9th of Lunar New Year).
