The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) has adjusted its VND deposit interest rate up, with the highest current interest rate reaching 4.8%/year for a 24-month term.

With a deposit of 150 million VND at Agribank, customers can receive the following interest:

1 month term (interest rate 2.2%/year):

Interest = 150 million VND × 2.2% / 12 × 1 month = 275,000 VND.

6-month term (interest rate 3.5%/year):

Interest = 150 million VND × 3.5% / 12 × 6 months = 2,625,000 VND.

24-month term (interest rate 4.8%/year):

Interest = 150 million VND × 4.8% / 12 × 24 months = 14,400,000 VND.

Many banks list interest rates at high levels, up to 7-9.5%. However, to receive this interest rate, special conditions must be met.

PVcomBank is currently leading in special interest rates when customers deposit money at the counter, with 9.5% for a term of 12-13 months. However, the condition to receive this interest rate is that customers must have a minimum deposit balance of VND 2,000 billion.
