Specifically, the project of building and upgrading the Ninh Quoi - Ngan coconut route is invested by the Investment Project Management Board of Traffic works in Bac Lieu province as an investor; The total line length is about 10.9km, through the communes: Ninh Quoi A, Ninh Hoa and Loc Ninh of Hong Dan district.
This project is expected to be completed in 2023, but to date it has not been completed.
In Gia Rai town, the projects to build Xom Lung - Gia Rai and Gia Rai - Ho Phong embankments, with a total length of more than 15km and a total investment of over 1,200 billion VND, are also suspended. This is one of the projects that people along the Bac Lieu - Ca Mau canal are looking forward to a lot because of the benefits it brings, especially in the issue of preventing flooding caused by high tides, rising sea levels, riverbank landslides...

In the inner city of Bac Lieu City, the project to upgrade roads and sidewalks has been implemented since the end of 2024, and up to now, on Hai Ba Trung and Ly Tu Trong streets, sidewalks and drainage culverts are still being constructed... Many people in the area believe that this project is somewhat slow compared to the schedule, not knowing when it will be completed.
Regarding solutions to propose the embellishment and improvement of urban quality of Bac Lieu city such as relocating the night market on Ngo Gia Tu Street, improving Hai Ba Trung's culinary market; plan to exploit land area 30 April effective; Adjustment of parks and sidewalks on both sides of Bac Lieu River, building a walking bridge across the river ... to create accents and attract tourists for the city, develop trade economy ... still in the plan.
