6-month savings interest rate highest up to 9%
According to a survey by Lao Dong at nearly 30 banks, 6-month term savings interest rates at some banks are fluctuating around 6.5-9%/year, depending on the bank, deposit method and preferential conditions.
Cake by VPBank is listing 6-month term savings interest rates at a normal rate of 7.2%/year when customers receive interest at the end of the term. When customers receive interest at the beginning of the term, receive interest monthly or receive interest quarterly, savings interest rates are 6.78%/year, 7.02%/year and 7.09%/year respectively.
Notably, Cake by VPBank is implementing a preferential savings interest rate program in July. According to information on the Cake website, customers depositing from 5 million VND can get an additional interest rate of up to 1.8%/year.
The program applies from July 10, 2026 to the end of July 31, 2026 for CAKE term deposits and CAKE accumulation term deposits.
In addition, Cake by VPBank also displays a program for new customers who open savings books for the first time, with an additional interest rate of 1.8%/year. When adding this incentive to the normal savings interest rate of 7.2%/year, the 6-month term savings interest rate can be up to 9%/year.
BAC A BANK is listing a 6-month term savings interest rate at 7.05%/year. This is one of the notable 6-month term savings interest rates on the market today.
PGBank lists 6-month term savings interest rates at 6.9%/year when customers receive interest at the end of the term. Currently, the highest savings interest rate at PGBank for longer terms is 7%/year.
VCBNeo is listing 6-month term savings interest rates at 6.5%/year for individual customers receiving interest at the end of the term, according to the maximum VND deposit interest rate schedule applied from June 3, 2026. Savings interest rates receiving interest monthly, quarterly and paying interest in advance at this term are respectively lower than the interest rate received at the end of the term.

Depositors need to note that the highest savings interest rate usually comes with specific conditions such as online deposit, first deposit, minimum deposit amount, receiving interest at the end of the term or participating in preferential programs during the bank's implementation period.
