The small house in An Ninh Chon hamlet, An Lac Thon commune, Can Tho city for many years has almost only been the sigh of Mr. Truong Van Diep (born 1945) next to his unfortunate daughter, Ms. Truong Thi Truc Phuong (born 1979).
Before the incident happened, like many other workers, she worked diligently with the desire to nurture her small family.
However, 8 years ago, on her way to work, she unfortunately had a serious traffic accident. The accident caused her to suffer severe traumatic brain injury. Although she was saved after many days of treatment, the sequelae left behind have taken away almost all of the living ability of the woman who is at her most energetic age.

From a healthy worker, Ms. Phuong became a bedridden patient, losing her ability to walk, communicate and having to depend entirely on the care of her loved ones.
The accident not only closed her future but also caused the small family to break down. The husband also left her. The child was no longer by her mother's side. The pain continued to fall when her mother, because she was too devastated by her daughter's situation, fell ill and passed away.

Event after event made the already difficult house even more deserted. Currently, in that house, only the father and son rely on each other.
At the age of 81, Mr. Truong Van Diep spends all his time taking care of his daughter. From meals, sleep to daily activities of Ms. Phuong are all taken care of by him.
No longer able to work, Mr. Diep also has no stable income. The living expenses of the two fathers and sons mainly depend on about 1 million VND per month supported by relatives and a meager allowance for people with disabilities.

That meager amount of money had to be pawned for all expenses, from food to medicine. Due to extremely difficult economic conditions, the family could hardly take Ms. Phuong for periodic check-ups and rehabilitation.
Seeing his daughter lying motionless for many years, what Mr. Diep is most concerned about is not his old age or illness, but the worry that one day his health will no longer be enough to continue taking care of his daughter.

I just hope I still have enough strength to take care of my daughter. I hope there are conditions for treatment so that my child can recover somewhat" - the old father choked up sharing.
Many years have passed since the accident happened, Ms. Phuong's life is still attached to the hospital bed. And Mr. Diep still silently stays with his son every day, keeping a faint hope that there will be more hearts to share so that his father and son can alleviate difficulties on that tearful journey.
Mr. Tran Thanh Nhien - Head of An Ninh Chon hamlet said that Mr. Diep has 2 daughters, one is working far away, and the other is Ms. Phuong who is seriously ill and bedridden for many years.
Currently, the circumstances are very difficult, Mr. Diep himself is old and weak, unable to work. All living expenses only depend on monthly support money from the State.
