Young shoulders carrying the part of mother's life
These days, the small house in Duc Thanh village, Bao Lam 2 commune (Lam Dong) is filled with a mourning atmosphere. On the simple altar, the portraits of Nguyen Quang Vinh (19 years old) and Nguyen Minh Quang (15 years old) placed next to each other make anyone who comes to pay respects choked up.

Sitting silently in front of the portraits of her two children, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao (43 years old) was almost exhausted after many days of crying her eyes out. That thin woman has been carrying breast cancer for more than 4 years.
More than 10 years ago, the marriage broke down, Mrs. Hao took her two children back to rely on her biological parents. Without houses, without production land, the three mothers and children lived by hired labor.
When breast cancer was discovered, family life became even more deadlocked. Prolonged chemotherapy sessions weakened her health, but she still tried to work hard to have money for living expenses and treatment.

Seeing his mother getting weaker and weaker, Vinh dropped out of school first to work as a hired laborer. A few years later, Quang also put aside his studies when he was very young. The two brothers agreed to trade their dream of studying to help their mother earn every penny for medicine.
Local people said that the two brothers are very filial. All the money they earn from work is given to their mother to keep.
In the cramped rented room, simple meals are still filled with laughter because the three mothers and children always encourage each other to overcome adversity.
The child's call choked up by the Dak Nong stream
On the afternoon of June 19, Ms. Hao and her two children and some relatives came to the Dak Nong stream area to play. That should have just been a rare peaceful afternoon after a series of hard days of making a living.

But while bathing in the stream, both brothers were swept into the deep water. People and functional forces urgently searched for many hours, but a miracle did not happen.
That night, the bodies of the two brothers were successively brought ashore. The bad news made Mrs. Hao collapse.
Witnesses recounted that the mother repeatedly called her children's names in despair, blending into the sound of the stream flowing, making everyone choked up.
The two children told me that later when they go to work and have money, they will take their mother for treatment. Now the two children have left their mother and gone...", Mrs. Hao choked up.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, the grandfather of the two grandchildren, also could not hide his pain: "The two children are still young but love their mother very much. They dropped out of school to work just hoping their mother would have money for treatment. Who knew they would leave at the same time...".
Mr. Tran Viet Cuong - Chairman of Bao Lam 2 Commune People's Committee said that the locality has visited, encouraged and supported a part of the funds for the family to take care of the funeral.
Ms. Hao's family is in particularly difficult circumstances. She herself is suffering from a serious illness, all hopes are placed on her two children. We hope the community and philanthropists will pay attention and share to help her overcome this difficult period," Mr. Cuong said.
Now, in the small house in Bao Lam 2 commune, the laughter of the two filial boys has forever disappeared.
The mother suffering from terminal cancer has to face the days ahead in heartbreaking loneliness, when her two children who once put aside their youth to take care of their mother have never returned.
