Article 12 of the Law on forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level stipulates the tasks of supporting patrols to ensure security, order and traffic safety; performing the tasks of protecting security and order when mobilized by this force as follows:
1. Support the Commune Police in patrolling, preventing and detecting violations of security and order laws in the area under their responsibility.
2. Support the Commune Police in guiding, directing traffic, and resolving traffic jams when mobilized.
3. When performing the tasks specified in Clause 1 and Clause 2 of this Article, if an incident related to security and order is discovered, the security and order protection force at the grassroots level shall support or, under the guidance of the Commune-level Police, the functional force shall protect the scene and maintain security and order.
4. In case of complicated security and order situations outside the area of responsibility, the force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level may be mobilized by competent authorities to perform the task of protecting security and order. The use of the force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level in case of mobilization shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws.
Thus, the force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level has the duty to support the commune-level police in guiding, directing traffic, and resolving traffic jams when mobilized according to the above regulations.
