Regulations on conditions for registration for civil servant recruitment

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 19 of the 2025 Law on Cadres and Civil Servants stipulates the conditions for registration for civil servant recruitment as follows:

1. People who meet the following conditions are allowed to register to apply for civil service recruitment:

a) Having 01 nationality of Vietnamese nationality as prescribed by the Law on Citizenship;

b) Currently residing in Vietnam;

c) Be 18 years old or older;

d) Have good political and ethical qualities; have a clear background;

d) Good health to perform the task;

e) Meet the conditions required by the job position.

2. Applicants for leadership and management positions, in addition to meeting the conditions specified in Clause 1 of this Article, must also meet the standards and conditions for appointment according to regulations, except in cases where they are implemented according to the decision of the competent authority.

3. The following people are not allowed to register for civil service recruitment:

a) Loss or limited civil act capacity; people with difficulty in perception, mastering behavior;

b) Currently being prosecuted for criminal liability; serving or having completed the sentence or decision on criminal matters of the Court but not yet had his criminal record cleared; serving administrative measures at compulsory drug rehabilitation facilities or compulsory education institutions.

Thus, the conditions for registering for civil service recruitment are stipulated as above.
