On October 26, Mr. A Duy Khanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province, said that in the past two days, there has been prolonged heavy rain in the area, the Lo Xo Pass area has been eroded at some dangerous points.
Lo Xo Pass is located on Ho Chi Minh Road, connecting the Central region with the Central Highlands. Due to the impact of weather, storms in recent days have caused landslides and overflow onto the road.

Many vehicles participating in traffic had to stop and wait for the landslides to be cleared to move. Drivers said that during the rainy season, traveling through Lo Xo Pass, more than 35 km long, is very worrying.
Rain, dense fog, accompanied by rocks and soil suddenly falling onto the pass, posing a high risk of accidents.
Road Management Area III is the unit in charge of monitoring and managing the route and has signed a contract with Kon Tum Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company to organize regular maintenance, repair and patch the road with appropriate materials.

During the rainy and stormy season, workers are mobilized with materials and means to plot along the pass to level and clear large areas of landslides, ensuring the opening of routes for vehicles.
Not far from Lo Xo Pass is the home of dozens of households in Rook Met village, Dak Plo commune. During the rainy and stormy days, more than 50 people had to move their belongings and stay at neighbors' or relatives' houses to avoid the risk of landslides behind their homes.

The Rook Met village mountain has a crack about 515 cm wide, the depth is unknown, the crack length is nearly 200 m long on the top of the dirt hill. At the foot of the hill is a residential area.
Currently, the Dak Plo commune government is closely monitoring the weather situation in the area to promptly take response, rescue and relief measures.
