Article 40 of the 2015 Law on Military Service, amended by Clause 16, Article 4 of the Law amending 11 Laws on Military and Defense 2025, stipulates the preliminary health screening; health examination for citizens called for military service and performing their duty to join the People's Public Security as follows:
1. The Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level decides to establish a health screening team at the request of a medical facility at the same level.
2. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to establish a regional Health Examination Council at the request of the Department of Health.
3. The Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level decides to call for preliminary health screening for military service; health examination for citizens subject to military service and citizens subject to call-up to join the People's Public Security. The decision to call for preliminary examination and health check-up must be given to citizens 15 days before the preliminary examination and health check-up.
4. The regional health examination council organizes health examinations for citizens subject to military service and calling for service in the People's Public Security; the content of health examinations includes physical fitness, clinical, and paraclinical examinations to ensure accuracy and responsibility for the results of health examinations for military service.
5. The health examination period is from November 1 to December 31 every year. The time for health examination for citizens subject to second military service and call-up to join the People's Public Security as prescribed in Article 33 of this Law shall be decided by the Prime Minister.
6. The results of health screening and health classification must be made public on the electronic information portal and posted at the headquarters of the People's Committee at the commune level, agency, or organization within 20 days.
Thus, health examination for citizens called for military service is carried out according to the above regulations.
