Retired military officers receive security and compensation money from serving generals

Point a, Clause 1, Article 4, Decree 343/2025/ND-CP (effective from January 1, 2026), stipulates on nursing allowance as follows: Subjects specified in Clause 1; points a, b and c, Clause 2, Article 2 of this Decree, are supported with nursing allowance once a year, the benefit level is the same as the nursing allowance level of general-level officers on duty;

Clause 1, Points a, b, c Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 343/2025/ND-CP stipulates:

1. Retired General-level Officers.

2. Senior Lieutenant-Colonel officers who have retired, including:

a) Senior Colonel-level officers enjoy a salary of 668 VND according to the provisions of Decree No. 235/HDBT dated September 18, 1985 of the Council of Ministers on improving the salary regime of workers, civil servants and armed forces;

b) Officers before retirement holding positions or having held positions of Commander, Political Commissar (Army Corps, Corps, Naval Region, Coast Guard Region and equivalent); Directors of Departments with the function of directing the entire army. Officers before retirement holding positions or having held positions with a position allowance coefficient of 0.9 or higher as prescribed in Decree No. 25/CP dated May 23, 1993 of the Government temporarily stipulating the new salary regime for civil servants, public employees of administrative, non-business and armed forces or with a position allowance coefficient of 1.1 or higher as prescribed in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004 of the Government on the salary regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces;

c) Senior Colonel-level officers receive a second salary increase; officers before retirement hold positions or have held positions of Deputy Commander, Deputy Political Commissar (Army Corps, Corps, Naval Region, Coast Guard Region and equivalent); Deputy Directors of Departments with the function of directing the entire army. Officers before retirement hold positions or have held positions with a position allowance coefficient of 0.8 as prescribed in Decree No. 25/CP or hold positions with a position allowance coefficient of 1.0 as prescribed in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP;

Thus, from January 1, 2026, the above-mentioned retired military officers will enjoy security and compensation money from serving General-level officers.
