Retired military officers receive Colonel level allowance while on duty

Points b, c, Clause 1, Article 4, Decree 343/2025/ND-CP (effective from January 1, 2026), stipulate on nursing money as follows:

b) Subjects specified in points d and d, clause 2, Article 2 of this Decree, are supported with sick leave and nursing allowance once a year, the benefit level is equal to the sick leave and nursing allowance level of officers with the same military rank as Colonel, Senior Colonel currently working;

c) Subjects specified in point e, clause 2, Article 2 of this Decree, are supported with sick leave and nursing allowance once a year, the benefit level is the same as the sick leave and nursing allowance level of officers with the same rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Major currently working;

Points d, d, e Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 343/2025/ND-CP stipulates:

2. Retired Colonel-level officers, including:

d) Colonel-level officers enjoy a salary of 655 VND according to the provisions of Decree No. 235/HDBT; Colonel-level officers have their salaries increased for the first time; officers before retirement hold positions or have held positions of commander of Divisions or Military Commands of provinces and centrally-run cities (hereinafter referred to as provincial levels) and equivalent. Officers before retirement hold positions or have held positions with a position allowance coefficient of 0.7 as prescribed in Decree No. 25/CP or have a position allowance coefficient of 0.9 as prescribed in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP;

e) Officers of the rank of Colonel, Senior Colonel; officers who held positions or have held command positions of Brigades, Regiments and equivalents before retirement. Officers who held positions or have held positions before retirement have a position allowance coefficient of 0.5 as prescribed in Decree No. 25/CP or have a position allowance coefficient of 0.7 as prescribed in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP;

e) Officers of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Major; officers who held positions or have held command positions of Battalions and equivalents before retirement. Officers who held positions or have held positions before retirement have a position allowance coefficient of 0.35 as prescribed in Decree No. 25/CP or have a position allowance coefficient of 0.5 as prescribed in Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP;

Thus, from January 1, 2026, the above-mentioned retired army officers will enjoy security and compensation money from sergeant-level officers on duty.
