Location of the regular commune and town police according to the new regulations

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 2, Article 19 of Decree 184/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) amending and supplementing Article 3 of Decree No. 42/2021/ND-CP stipulates the position of the regular commune police as follows:

The regular commune police are grassroots police, deployed in commune and special-zone administrative units, under the organizational system of the People's Public Security; act as the core in performing the task of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, fighting crimes and violations of laws on national security, order and social safety, building a movement of the entire people to protect national security in communes and special-zone areas".

Thus, from July 1, 2025, the position of the regular commune and town police will be implemented according to the above regulations.
