Article 14 of the 2025 Law on Civil Servants (effective from July 1, 2026) stipulates the rights of civil servants to rest and other rights:
1. Being entitled to annual leave, holidays, Tet holidays, private work leave, unpaid leave according to the provisions of labor law.
In case due to work requirements, civil servants do not use or do not use up the annual holiday days, they are paid a sum of money for the non-resident days according to the internal spending regulations of the unit and in accordance with the unit's financial capacity.
2. To study and conduct scientific research at home and abroad, participate in socio-economic activities, except for activities specified in Clause 7, Article 10 of this Law; in case of injury or sacrifice while performing duties, they are considered for enjoying regimes and policies like wounded soldiers or are considered for recognition as martyrs according to the provisions of law.
3. To enjoy other rights according to the provisions of law and regulations of competent authorities.
Thus, from July 1, 2026, officials have the right to rest as above.
