Our point of view is to reduce the pressure of the 10th grade entrance exam for students and families, but not to reduce objectivity and fairness.
Therefore, the enrollment method can only be changed when implementing the system of testing and assessment in the learning process in an objective, best and most reliable way" - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training said.

Sharing with reporters, Do Trung Hieu - an 11th grade student at a school in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi - expressed that he still remembers the time of preparing for the 10th grade entrance exam.
Hieu said that throughout 9th grade, the school schedule was almost full for the whole week. In addition to studying in class, he spends many evenings and weekends reviewing exam subjects, making questions and consolidating knowledge.
I still remember that time was quite stressful. I always thought about the exam and was afraid that I would not achieve the registered aspirations" - Hieu said.
According to the male student, the pressure comes not only from the amount of knowledge to be learned but also from the psychology of having to get enough high scores to get into the desired school. Every time he takes a test or mock exam, he compares the results with the benchmark scores of previous years.
If there is a new enrollment plan to help reduce pressure on students, that is a positive thing. But I think any enrollment method needs to be clear so that students know how to prepare" - Hieu shared.
Hieu shared that he thinks if he is considered for admission to high schools, then the school can organize separate tests to assess abilities and classify, students will have a lighter approach to grade transfer.
Thus, students can reduce the pressure when taking the grade transfer exam, but the school can still assess their abilities to arrange classes appropriately" - Hieu said.

Meanwhile, Pham Thuy Van - a 9th grade student at a secondary school in Vinh Thanh commune, Hanoi - is starting to review and prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam.
Van said that she is also interested in information related to Hanoi's research to change the enrollment method.
If there are changes in the entrance exam, I hope the new plan will be announced soon so that students have time to prepare. Knowing the exam or admission method in advance also helps us be more proactive and reduce pressure" - Van expressed.

According to Hoai An, 9th grade students must determine school goals quite early, while each student's ability and strengths are different. Therefore, if Hanoi changes the enrollment method, she hopes that the assessment method can fully consider students' abilities, helping them have the opportunity to choose a suitable learning environment.
