Expected reduction of more than 32,000 principals and vice principals after school arrangement
According to calculations by the Ministry of Education and Training, after the arrangement, the whole country is expected to reduce 32,625 principals, vice principals and 10,041 staff; many management officials will return to teaching.
The above content was informed by Standing Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong at the conference summarizing the 2025-2026 school year and deploying tasks for the 2026-2027 school year held on the morning of August 27.
According to Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong, by August 20, 16 localities had basically completed the arrangement of the network of educational institutions; the whole country is expected to complete before August 30. After arrangement, the number of educational institutions is expected to decrease from 37,515 to 18,570, equivalent to a decrease of 50.5%.
This process also forms inter-level general schools, large-scale schools and creates conditions to rearrange staff. Bac Ninh cancels the 2026 high school graduation exam results of a candidate
Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Binh signed Decision No. 1664 dated August 25, 2026 on canceling the results of the 2026 High School Graduation Exam for candidates who violated the Exam Regulations after announcing the exam results.
According to the decision, candidate H.P. N at the Luong Tai High School exam site was cancelled from the 2026 high school graduation exam results due to violating the Exam Regulations.
The Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province assigned the Department of Education Quality Management, the standing unit of the Bac Ninh Provincial High School Graduation Exam Council in 2026, to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to update and adjust the exam results of candidates according to the decision; and at the same time notify relevant units and individuals according to regulations. 4 boarding schools in Lang Son border area are about to welcome students
On August 27, according to information from the Lang Son Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), 4 inter-level boarding primary and secondary schools in Kien Moc, Khuat Xa, Mau Son and Quoc Khanh communes are being urgently completed.
