Up to this point, many universities in the Technology group have announced their expected enrollment plans for 2026. Notably, many schools plan to adjust admission combinations, in the direction of narrowing or gradually eliminating traditional combinations.
In 2026, the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) plans to use 6 admission methods to enroll in training programs. Specifically as follows:
- Method 1. Direct admission according to the regulations of the Enrollment Regulations (Article 8).
- Method 2. Admission based on the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam.
- Method 3. Consider the results of the competency assessment exam.
- Method 4. Use international SAT certificates for admission consideration.
- Method 5. Combine high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission consideration.
- Method 6. Use other methods: The school considers admissions for candidates under the agreement, undergraduate preparatory program, admissions according to the Admissions Regulations, Admissions Instructions of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
In which, with the method of using graduation exam scores, the school removed 11 old combinations, including B01 (Math, Biology, History), D09 (Math, History, English) and a series of combinations with subjects such as Economics and Law Education, Informatics and Technology (Agriculture and Industry). Conversely, the school added the C03 combination (Math, Literature, History).
For the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the school plans to enroll 4,020 students for 20 training majors in 2026, keeping stable compared to 2025.
Admission methods include: direct admission, based on the results of the HSA competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, considering international SAT certificates and high school graduation exam scores.
When considering by graduation exam scores, in most majors, the school uses three combinations including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), X06 (Math, Physics, Informatics). Specifically, the two majors Biotechnology and Agricultural Technology recruit additional combinations A02 (Math, Physics, Biology).
Thus, the four Technology University combinations expected to be used for admission consideration all have two common subjects: Mathematics and Physics. Compared to 2025, the school no longer considers D01 (Math, Literature, English), B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology) and X26 (Math, English, Informatics).
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance is also expected to no longer use A00 and C00 combinations for most training majors.
Instead, schools build new combinations, in which each combination includes Math or Literature, combined with subjects such as English, Physics, Biology, Informatics, History or Geography depending on the major group.
