Aeon Retail Group Expands Playground in Vietnam

After more than 10 years in Vietnam, Japanese retail group Aeon has invested about 1.5 billion USD and has just expanded its scale by opening a new shopping center in Hanoi.

Aeon Xuan Thuy Shopping Center has just officially opened with a modern shopping space and targets students, office workers, and young families in Cau Giay area and neighboring districts.

Aeon Xuan Thuy is designed as a 3-storey center with many modern amenities and an electronic price list and automatic payment system.

Besides direct shopping, Aeon also expands online sales channels by phone or on e-commerce platforms.

According to information from this group, in the period of March-August 2024 alone, Aeon Mall achieved revenue of nearly 8.2 billion yen, about more than 1,390 billion VND in Vietnam, an increase of more than 14% over the same period last year. After deducting expenses, the Japanese giant's pre-tax profit was about 2.4 billion yen (equivalent to over 400 billion VND), an increase of about 21%.

After more than 10 years, Aeon has invested about 1.5 billion USD in Vietnam and currently has 7 shopping centers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue and Binh Duong, with a total leasable floor area of ​​about 462,000 m2.
