- Method 1: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and priority admission according to the separate admission plan of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering.
- Method 2: Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam, high school academic results and the results of the competency assessment exam of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. This method does not apply to majors with admission combinations including aptitude tests.
Method 3: Admission consideration combined with high school graduation exam results, high school academic results, competency assessment exam results of Ho Chi Minh City National University, along with aptitude test results organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering.
This method applies to 4 specialized training majors including: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Fashion Design and Graphic Design.
Accordingly, in 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Engineering will use the main enrollment method of combining many criteria.
For Van Lang University, the school has supplemented the method of considering competency profiles, in order to assess candidates in a comprehensive, multi-dimensional direction, in line with the spirit of innovation of the 2018 General Education Program with three main parts including: High school learning process (grades 10, 11, 12), personal assessment according to industry orientation - career vision and foreign language skills. This plan aims to help better identify the suitability of candidates for each training major.
Instead of just relying on exam scores at one time, this method considers the overall learning process, personal ability and career orientation of learners, the evaluation ratio includes: High school transcript accounts for 60%, personal assessment papers 30% and foreign language skills 10%.
In which, the personal assessment test is designed based on internationally verified career orientation surveys, in order to determine the level of compatibility of candidates with the chosen major.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is also expected to use a comprehensive admission method, including: high school graduation exam scores, competency assessment, transcripts and other outstanding achievements.
Method 1: Use the following results for admission consideration:
- Results of the 2026 high school graduation exam.
- Results of the competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in 2026.
- High school academic results in grade 12 combined with outstanding achievements (if any).
Outstanding achievements:
Win prizes in the excellent student exam or Olympics in cultural subjects at the provincial/city level or higher (the winning subject belongs to the admission combination).
Win prizes in the Science and Technology competition at the provincial/city level or higher (subjects suitable for the admission major).
Specialized school students
Students who achieve the title of excellent student for 3 years of high school (10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade).
Students from high schools have good quality.
Top students of high schools have signed cooperation agreements with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry.
