On January 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a ceremony to announce and award the President's decision on personnel work. General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of National Defense, attended and chaired the ceremony.

According to the announced decision, officers currently serving as Commanders of the Military Command (CHQS) of provinces, promoted from Colonel to Major General include: Nguyen Van Hung - Commander of the Ca Mau Provincial Military Command; Dinh Hong Tieng - Commander of the Lam Dong Provincial Military Command; Nie Ta - Commander of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Tuy - Commander of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Van Nganh - Commander of the An Giang Provincial Military Command; Vu Van Tung - Commander of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command.
