To date, many universities training in Journalism have proposed the expected enrollment method for 2026 with notable adjustments, including stopping admission based on transcripts and removing some traditional admission combinations.
At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), in 2026, the school is expected not to consider the C00 combination with 15/30 majors, including many hot majors of the school such as: Journalism, Oriental Studies, Korean Studies, Public Relations, International Studies, Psychology...
The school also removed the admission consideration for 3 combinations for all majors, including: D66 (Math, Literature, Civic Education/Economic and Legal Education), C03 (Math, Literature, History), C04 (Math, Literature, Geography).
For the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, in 2026, the school enrolls students by 3 methods:
- Direct admission and priority admission: According to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the Academy on majors suitable for the winning exam subject.
- Admission combined with English certificate
+ For majors in groups 1, 2, 4: Admission combined with an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher, minimum SAT certificate of 1,200/1,600, 6-level foreign language proficiency framework certificate for Vietnam (VSTEP) level 3 or higher with average general academic results of 6 semesters of high school.
+ For the History major belonging to group 3: Admission combined with an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or higher, SAT certificate minimum 1,200/1,600, VSTEP certificate level 3 or higher with average academic results for 6 semesters of high school.
- Admission based on high school graduation exam results. In which, admission based on high school graduation exam results according to the combination of each training industry group, specifically as follows:
+ For majors and specializations in group 2 without subjects multiplied by coefficients, admission scores are based on a scale of 30 points.
+ For majors/specialties belonging to group 1, there is Literature subject, group 3 has History subject, and group 4 has English subject multiplied by a coefficient of 2, admission score according to a scale of 40.


4 training groups of the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda:
- Group 1 includes:
+ Journalism major with 6 majors: Print journalism; Journalism photo; Radio journalism; Television journalism; Television filming; Online online journalism.
+ Publishing industry, including 2 majors: Editorial Publishing, Electronic Publishing.
- Group 2 includes majors:
+ Philosophy; Social sciences; Building the Party and State government; Public management; State management; Social work; Sociology; Political economy; Economics, specializing in Economic Management.
+ Political science, including 4 majors: Ideology - culture work; Development politics; Ho Chi Minh Thought; Policy communication.
- Group 3 includes: History major, major in History of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
- Group 4 includes majors:
+ International media; English language; Mass media; Multimedia media.
+ International relations, including 3 majors: Foreign information; Political relations and international media; International relations and global media.
+ Public Relations, including 3 majors: Professional Public Relations; Marketing Communications; Advertising.
Thus, compared to 2025, in 2026, the academy no longer considers admissions based on high school transcript scores.
