The policy of arranging and merging schools is being implemented by localities across the country to streamline the apparatus, improve management efficiency and use of resources.
Besides agreeing with this policy, many teachers also shared their expectations about job arrangement, organizational models and career development opportunities so that the arrangement process takes place smoothly, contributing to improving the quality of education.
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Do Thuy Trang - a teacher at a primary school in Vinh Thanh commune, Hanoi - said that the policy of arranging and merging schools is appropriate, contributing to streamlining the apparatus, using resources effectively and creating conditions to improve the quality of education management. According to her, if implemented synchronously, the merger will better promote facilities, teaching staff, and at the same time meet the requirements of educational innovation.
From the perspective of teachers directly teaching, Ms. Trang shared her wish that after the merger, they will still be assigned to work at schools with convenient travel distances. According to her, appropriate arrangement will help teachers stabilize their jobs, ensure health, save travel time and maintain teaching quality.
Regarding the organizational model, Ms. Trang believes that merging schools at the same level will create more convenience in management, professional organization and implementation of education programs, because each level of education has its own characteristics.
She also shared that in some inter-level school models, principals often have expertise at the secondary school level. Therefore, primary school teachers want the work of planning, fostering and developing management teams at the primary school level to continue to be concerned and create motivation for teachers to strive in the working process.
According to Ms. Trang, when schools are organized on a larger scale, teachers will have more opportunities to participate in common professional activities and strengthen experience exchange. For some subject teachers who have to teach at many school locations, the reasonable arrangement of teaching schedules will contribute to ensuring work efficiency and creating favorable conditions in the teaching process.
For contract teachers, including teachers recruited under Decree 111/2022/ND-CP or who have taught for many years but have not been recruited as civil servants, Ms. Trang said that many teachers expect to have more opportunities to stabilize their jobs after the merger.
According to her, teachers hope that localities will soon deploy recruitment or consideration of civil servants, and at the same time acknowledge the working process, professional capacity and contributions of the team in many years of teaching. She believes that with a suitable arrangement roadmap and a clear personnel arrangement plan, the teaching staff will be assured in their work, continue to contribute and accompany the education innovation process.
Many teachers believe that the arrangement and merger of schools will contribute to improving the efficiency of management and use of human resources. At the same time, they expect functional agencies to soon have specific guidance on organizational models, job positions, regimes, policies and plans for arranging teachers after the merger to ensure benefits and create peace of mind for the team.
