According to the report of Hai Phong City People's Committee, in 2024, the city will submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for permission to prepare scientific dossiers to propose the ranking of 2 special national relics, namely Tu Luong Xam relic (Hai An district) and the Mac family's ancestral temple relic cluster and the memorial area of Mac dynasty kings (Kien Thuy district). At the same time, the dossier is being completed for the Ministry to consider and decide on the ranking of 4 national relics: Xuan Dai communal house, Bi temple, Canh Son temple and Bac Ton memorial house (Tien Lang district); submit to the Prime Minister for decision on recognition as national treasures for the Nghe temple's set of metal products.
During the year, the city had 20 relics restored, including 12 city-level relics and 5 national relics with public funding for restoration and embellishment with a total amount of 12 billion VND; 3 relics were restored and embellished with socialized funding with a mobilized amount of nearly 20 billion VND.
The city currently has 942 relics, including 1 world natural heritage, 2 special national relics, 119 national relics, 435 city relics and nearly 400 relics in the inventory list. According to Resolution No. 82/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2022 of the Hai Phong City People's Council, the city decided to provide public funding from the city budget to restore and embellish 73 national relics in the city, from 2023 to 2027 with a total amount of 103 billion VND. Of these, there are 8 level B relics, with public funding of 500 million VND/relic; 31 level C relics, with a maximum public funding of 1 billion VND/relic; 34 level D relics, each relic not exceeding 2 billion VND.
