According to the draft, in 2024, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation will achieve and exceed many targets and plans assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: newly establishing 179/100 grassroots unions, reaching 179% of the plan, establishing 8/3 grassroots unions, reaching 260% of the plan; developing 47,992 new union members (actual development increased by 31,239/27,600 union members, reaching 113% of the plan; developing 620/600 union members, reaching 103% of the plan assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor); collecting union funds and fees both reached 110% of the target... Also at the conference, delegates gave their opinions on guidelines for organizing trade unions in localities implementing administrative unit reorganization in the city and the regulations of the Trade Union Presidents' Club... From January 1, 2025, Hai Phong has 15 district-level administrative units, including 8 districts, 6 counties and 1 city; 167 commune-level administrative units, including 79 wards, 7 towns and 81 communes, a decrease of 50 commune-level units (an increase of 13 wards, a decrease of 3 towns and 60 communes) compared to before the reorganization.
