This activity was held on the occasion of the release of the 3rd mini album named "Deadline". The event is considered a new step in connecting K-pop with traditional cultural heritage, aiming for a multi-dimensional experience for the public.
According to an announcement from YG Entertainment, the project named "National Museum of Korea x Blackpink" will take place from February 26 to March 8. The program gathers three outstanding elements: a globally influential K-pop group, a typical national museum of Korea, and the streaming platform Spotify as an official partner.
During the project, the premises of the National Museum of Korea will be lit with pink - Blackpink's iconic color as a special visual highlight. In addition, Blackpink members will participate as sound guides for eight typical artifacts. Through a separately recorded narration, visitors have the opportunity to explore historical and cultural values in a closer way, combining modern art and traditional heritage.
Another notable activity is the full audition of the mini album "Deadline" in the Gwanggaeto Stone Beer area, located on the "Historical Road" in the museum main hall. Some time slots will be reserved for Spotify Premium users, while the pre-release audition event is open to registration via the Naver platform from the evening of February 19. After the album officially releases at 2 pm on February 27, the public can participate during the museum's opening hours.
This is the first time a K-pop group has implemented a large-scale cooperation with the National Museum of Korea. Observers assess that the project not only creates attraction for fans but also opens up a new approach in promoting Korean culture through popular music.
The mini album "Deadline" includes 5 songs: the title track "Go", the pre-released song "Jump" and the songs "Me and my", "Champion" and "Fxxxboy". The product is expected to continue to extend Blackpink's influence in the international market, while contributing to bringing the Korean cultural image closer to the global public.
