Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) Nguyen Van Hung issued Official Dispatch No. 4347/CD-BVHTTDL, requesting units in the industry in many provinces and cities and agencies under the Ministry to focus on implementing emergency measures to respond to storm No. 5.
The dispatch was sent to the Directors of the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Tourism in the following provinces/cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai.
Accordingly, the most urgent and drastic requirements are to ensure absolute safety for people and tourists, while minimizing property damage, especially cultural and historical works.
The Minister requested that Directors of local Departments proactively monitor the developments of storms, develop specific response plans; closely coordinate with competent authorities to review and inspect all accommodation facilities, tourist destinations, especially in coastal areas, islands and areas at risk of landslides and flash floods.
Organize propaganda, relocate and evacuate tourists to safe places.
Call on tourism vehicles at sea not to enter dangerous areas and seek safe shelter; support people to reinforce and anchor their boats.
Maintain continuous communication to ensure absolute safety for tourists.
Localities should proactively consider and decide to temporarily suspend festival, entertainment and recreation activities to avoid large crowds and protect people's safety.
In the context that the whole country is preparing for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism especially emphasizes the need to deploy the work of protecting and reinforcing cultural and sports facilities, historical - cultural relics and scenic spots to ensure the safety of people and property.
To ensure smooth direction, local departments and units under the Ministry must organize 24/7 duty, update the situation and promptly report to the Ministry's Civil Defense Command.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung assigned Deputy Minister Phan Tam to directly monitor and direct the implementation of the telegram.
