In the life-and-death fight against the enemy, 909 police officers of the army sacrificed their bravery, 46 people were captured, imprisoned, and brutally tortured by the enemy, still maintaining the revolutionary spirit, thousands of people were infected with Agent Orange, many people were permanently disabled, leaving part of their blood and bones on the battlefield.
Due to their outstanding achievements, 11 Southern Security groups that the police officers support have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (LLVTND).
The President has conferred the title of Hero of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to the entire Southern Military Police Force. Along with that, 21 individuals were awarded and posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Vietnam People's Army.
Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that during the resistance war, "All for the big frontline", "All for the meat-and-season South", millions of outstanding children of the nation heroically fought, sacrificed, and donated blood and bones to the Fatherland.
In particular, the heroic People's Public Security (CAND) force was present at all battlefields and fronts and made great contributions and dedication.
The officers of the Southern Military Police are shining examples of the revolutionary qualities and bravery of the People's Public Security soldiers; are a source of motivation and inspiration for today's and future generations to continue to follow in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people are forever grateful to the heroic martyrs, including the officers of the Southern Military Police who heroically sacrificed and made great contributions to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the peaceful and happy life of the people.
That is forever the pride, the invaluable spiritual asset of our nation, our country and the heroic People's Public Security force.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, and localities, especially the Ministry of Public Security, to continue promoting the tradition of "repaying gratitude", paying attention to and implementing policies well for policy families, meritorious people in general, and comrades of the Southern Military Police in particular.
According to the Prime Minister, to make the stories about the indomitable struggle and sacrifice of the Southern Military Police officers not only a historical memory but also to fuel the tradition for the younger generation, to repay the merits of meritorious people and to show gratitude for the comradeship, the Southern Military Police Liaison Committee plays an important role.
The results of the Communications Department's work are very valuable, with the maintenance of regular operations, organization of works of profound humanitarian significance, contributing to beautifying the image of the People's Public Security officer.
