Singer Duyen Quynh and her difficult life before being involved in lip-syncing scandal

Before being known to the public, Duyen Quynh had gone through a long journey with many difficulties and challenges both economically and mentally.

Singer Duyen Quynh's lip-syncing video is still being widely shared on social networking platforms.

Duyen Quynh is known as a singer who was entrusted by musician Nguyen Van Chung to sing the billion-view song "Continuing the story of peace".

When this song was performed by Vo Ha Tram and Dong Hung, many noises and controversies also occurred.

Duyen Quynh has had a long journey with music but is not yet a prominent name.

Born in Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak) into a not-so-well-off family, Duyen Quynh soon faced upheavals when her parents divorced.

Although life was materially deprived, the love of music came early to Duyen Quynh. Her mother was the one who discovered her talent and supported her daughter to follow the path of art.

At the age of 17, Duyen Quynh left her hometown to go to Ho Chi Minh City to take the entrance exam to the Conservatory of Music. This was considered a major but also risky turning point, because her family did not have enough economic conditions to provide long-term support. Throughout her student years, she had to take care of most of her living expenses. Duyen Quynh once shared that at one point she only had enough money to rent a cramped room, and her regular meals were instant noodles or cheap street food to save money.

To pursue her passion, the female singer did all kinds of jobs: leaflet distributor, extra, restaurant assistant, tutor, wedding singer, tea room singer... There was a period when she sang continuously but her income was still not enough to live on, and she once thought about quitting her job because she felt stuck.

After graduating from the Conservatory of Music, her singing career has not yet improved. Duyen Quynh returned to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra - Music - Ballet Theater (HBSO), mainly singing backing vocals and participating in art programs. Although she stood on a large stage, her name was still quite obscure to the general public. For many years, Duyen Quynh almost "quietly existed" in the competitive music market.

In 2019, she participated in the program "The Storyteller of Love" and won the championship, but her name has not really emerged.

Recalling the most difficult period, Duyen Quynh recounted the COVID-19 era. At that time, when she had just started making her first steps after television programs, her performance schedule became denser, and invitations to participate in gameshows and music projects continuously appeared, all plans had to be stopped due to distance stretching.

According to the female singer, the biggest difficulty lies not in income but in spirit. Being at home for too long makes her worried, afraid of being forgotten and falling behind.

Until the song "Writing a story of peace" was released in 2023 and exploded on social networks in 2025, the female singer was noticed even more.

Currently, Duyen Quynh continues to face controversy related to lip-syncing in a program.

Previously, at the recent Lan Song Xanh 2025 awards ceremony, Duyen Quynh performed the song "Continuing the Story of Peace". However, she was exposed for lip-syncing, causing controversy among the audience. Later, when reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper contacted her, the female singer apologized and hoped to learn from experience.
