The crew of the drama television project "The Tree of Life" produced by Chinh Ngo Duong Quang company officially confirmed the broadcast schedule from January 30, 2026 on the iQIYI platform and the golden time slot of CCTV-8 channel. This is considered a key project of the producer in 2026, and also marks the change in image of actress Duong Tu after many years associated with commercial films.
The actress puts a lot of enthusiasm into this project. Because after historical dramas and fairy tales, acting in drama is a big challenge for her to prove her acting ability to the audience.
Tree of Life" is directed by Ly Tuyet, with a script by Vuong Tam Mao and Lei Tu - the screenwriting duo who have been behind many highly appreciated dramas such as "All Very Good" or "Son Hai Tinh". The film gathers a cast including Duong Tu, Ho Ca, Truong Triet Hoa, Ly Quang Khiet, Mai Dinh.
The work is set in the Thanh Hai plateau in the 1990s, revolving around the story of environmental protection in a period of conflicting economic development. At that time, Ma Tri district was still mainly dependent on agriculture and nomadic people, people's lives faced many difficulties. Meanwhile, the deserted area of Bac Lap Moc Lap was rich in mineral resources and wildlife, becoming a target of poaching and illegal exploitation.
The central character is Da Kiet (Ho Ca), deputy district chief of Ma Tri, who, with the support of district chief Lam Boi Sinh (Ly Quang Khiet), established a mountain patrol team. Initially, the team's goal was to survey resources to find directions for economic development. However, after witnessing firsthand the scene of Tibetan antelopes being hunted and killed, Da Kiet switched to environmental protection and fighting against illegal exploitation activities.
Parallel to this line of characters is Bach Cuc (Duong Tu), a young female police officer who was once an orphan, adopted by Dr. Truong Can Can (Mai Dinh). Participating in the mountain patrol team, Bach Cuc gradually grew up in a harsh environment, attached to her teammates and developed feelings for reporter Thieu Van Phi (Truong Triet Hoa). The whole group aims to establish a nature reserve, but the plan is interrupted by Da Kiet's mysterious disappearance and the dissolution of the patrol team.
Ten years later, when this area was somewhat settled, illegal coal mining reappeared, causing conflicts between economic development and environmental conservation to continue to erupt. Bach Cuc and those who were once associated with the mountain patrol team returned, both continuing the path of environmental protection and searching for the truth about Da Kiet's disappearance.
According to experts, "The Tree of Life" is considered a project with great ambition, not only exploiting personal emotional factors but also focusing on social issues such as ecology, resources and community responsibility.
