Nguyen Dinh Bac is absolutely leading in the voting for the typical player of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals organized by AFC, with a nearly overwhelming rate compared to the rest.
As of 7:30 am on January 28, the U23 Vietnam striker received 97.04% of the votes, far ahead of Ryunosuke Sato - Player of the Year and a series of other stars.
Previously, AFC ranked Dinh Bac in the group of outstanding candidates, emphasizing the impressive performance of the striker born in 2004 with 4 goals and 2 assists, making a great contribution to helping U23 Vietnam win 3rd place overall. He is also the "Top Scorer" of the tournament despite not playing regularly as a starter.
What made Dinh Bac's performance noteworthy was that he only started 2/6 matches due to injury. This striker scored the opening goal against Jordan, scoring the only goal to help U23 Vietnam overcome Saudi Arabia to top Group A, scoring when coming on as a substitute in the victory over UAE after extra time.
In the third-place match against South Korea, Dinh Bac continued to leave his mark with a classy free kick, contributing to bringing victory to U23 Vietnam. Although unable to participate in the penalty shootout due to a red card at the end of the match, the striker of Hanoi Police was still one of the most outstanding faces of the tournament.
Besides Dinh Bac and Sato, other players included in the voting list include goalkeeper Li Hao (China), Ali Azaizeh (Jordan), Leonardo Shahin (Lebanon), Rakan Al Ghamdi (Saudi Arabia), Mathias Macallister (Australia), Ali Al Memari (UAE), Kim Do-hyun (South Korea) and Sardorbek Bakhromov (Uzbekistan).
The poll will close at 4 pm on January 30th.
