On March 5, South Korean media reported that singer and actor Rowoon has confirmed his participation as a storyteller for the series "Days in the Army" on the KFN Plus channel of the Defense Communication Agency. He is currently preparing for filming.
This change immediately attracted attention, because it took place after all videos featuring singer and actor Cha Eun Woo (Astro) were removed, related to tax evasion suspicions.
Days in the Army" is a content program in which celebrities who are on military service appear as storytellers, introducing historical events and figures related to the armed forces.
The program previously attracted attention when actor Song Kang and member Taeyong of the NCT group participated.
Cha Eun Woo participated in the program as a storyteller from last year and appeared in 4 episodes. However, after tax evasion allegations related to this star appeared, all videos featuring him were removed from the public mode.
With Rowoon taking over the role of Cha Eun Woo, the program is expected to enter a new phase.
Rowoon enlisted for compulsory military service from October 27 last year. Initially, he planned to enlist earlier, on July 21; but after receiving grade 7 results in the military medical examination (requesting a re-examination), he filed a petition, underwent another examination and was finally confirmed to be eligible for military service.
After completing basic training, updated information about his military life was shared on FNC Entertainment's social media account. The post included photos of Rowoon wearing military uniform with the caption "Binh nhì Kim Seok Woo", using his real name.
Rowoon debuted in 2016 as a member of the Kpop group SF9. After that, he built a successful acting career through films such as "School 2017" (2017), "Extraordinary You" (2019), "The King's Affection" (2021), "Tomorrow" (2022) and "The Matchmakers" (2023).
After leaving SF9 in 2023, he mainly focused on acting. In the original Disney+ movie "The Murky Stream" (2025), Rowoon played Jang Si Yul and showed an impressive transformation, thereby further affirming his potential as an actor.
