Ha Tinh Museum was established in 1992, is a public service unit under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh province, headquartered at the Memorial Area of Uncle Ho's visit to Ha Tinh (in Tan Giang ward, Ha Tinh city).
However, since 2018, Ha Tinh Museum has been degraded and had to stay at Ha Tinh Provincial Library (Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street) to have an office for staff and a room to store artifacts and treasures.
Currently, Ha Tinh Museum is managing and storing more than 11,000 artifacts, including many valuable antiques and treasures such as: ancient Vietnamese skeletons dating back more than 4,000 years; 3 Nguyen Dynasty cannons recognized as National Treasures in 2013; a collection of royal decrees of the Le and Nguyen dynasties; a collection of traditional crafts; many war relics from the resistance wars against foreign invaders...
Those artifacts and treasures are still waiting for the Ha Tinh Museum Construction Project to be implemented and completed every day so that they can be displayed in a place that can both promote their value and preserve them better and more sustainably.

According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, due to the lack of a gallery, most of the national treasures, artifacts, and antiques that Ha Tinh Museum is preserving are kept in storage.
Among them, valuable antiques such as the cannon, a national treasure, are being kept in the garage; two dugout canoes are located in the corner of the yard of the Ha Tinh Provincial Library.
Mr. Tran Phi Cong - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Museum - said that the unit was arranged a working space at the headquarters of Ha Tinh Provincial Library with about 800 m² of floor area. Due to the limited space, it was not possible to arrange a functional room to display artifacts.
According to Mr. Cong, if artifacts and antiques are not displayed but kept in warehouses for many years, it will affect the work of preserving and promoting their value.
Many artifacts made of paper, fabric, and metal are greatly affected by the natural environment. Without a dedicated room, they are at risk of being damaged. Therefore, the construction of a museum is extremely urgent today.
Mr. Cong added that the project to build a new headquarters of Ha Tinh Museum was approved by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province in 2018 with a total investment of more than 200 billion VND on a 2-hectare land area, near the Ha Tinh Provincial Library building.

However, up to now, the project investor, the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works of Ha Tinh province, has just completed the organization of the architectural competition to build the museum.
Therefore, the Ha Tinh Museum project is expected to be implemented in 2025. We hope that the project will be implemented and completed as soon as possible to preserve, maintain and display artifacts, antiques and documents to promote their value.
