Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ha Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City said: "In the first quarter of 2025, Da Nang Museum will move from Dien Hai Citadel to a new location. This is an important milestone in the operation of the city's museum system. Along with construction, organizing exhibitions is also a great effort of Da Nang City towards the public."
According to Mr. Vy, the museum system in Da Nang needs to maintain and continue to collect and exploit fine art works as well as other artifacts in museums.
Currently, communication work in museums also has new elements such as digital technology, virtual reality technology and other activities. It can be said that the city's museum system has recently fulfilled the task of promoting the city's heritage and values to people nationwide and abroad, and organizing communication sessions to bring necessary values to young people.
The exhibition content at the new Da Nang Museum is divided into 6 areas: permanent exhibition area, thematic exhibition area, open storage exhibition area, limited-time exhibition area, research and development exhibition area and outdoor exhibition area. The Da Nang Museum is also divided into many exhibition sections, corresponding to different themes to maximize the value of documents and artifacts.
The project to renovate and upgrade blocks 42, 44 Bach Dang and 31 Tran Phu to build the Da Nang Museum started in mid-2021, aiming to create infrastructure to receive and display artifacts of the current museum (located in the core area of the special national relic Dien Hai citadel). The project is deployed on a total area of 8,686 m2, with a total investment of nearly 505 billion VND.
