Stephen Chow admitted that his age and fitness currently cannot meet the needs of both being a screenwriter, director and participating in leading roles as before.

In the livestream on the evening of July 29, the crew of the movie "Kungfu Women's Football Team" participated in the program of famous MC and streamer Dong Vu Huy.

Previously, Dong Vu Huy repeatedly shared in broadcasts that he is a die-hard fan of Stephen Chow. He revealed that he watched "The Journey to the West" no less than 500 times, and emotionally said: "He not only made us laugh, but also really taught us many things.

During the conversation, Stephen Chow suddenly "reverse-interviewed" Dong Yuhui: "Have you watched Shaolin Soccer and Kungfu Women's Team yet?".

Dong Vu Huy replied: "I have watched Shaolin football many times and am extremely fond of it. After watching it, I really love football, but until now I still don't know how to play and am not good at this sport.

When asked why most of his films have martial arts elements, Stephen Chow said: "Because I really love Bruce Lee.

He recounted that from a young age he practiced martial arts hard, learned Wing Chun martial arts according to Bruce Lee and also practiced many different sects.

If I didn't make the film, maybe I would become a martial arts coach or a Wing Chun master," Chau Tinh Tri shared.

When Dong Yuxi asked Stephen Chow if he still intended to return to acting, the "comedy king" of Chinese cinema seriously replied with a sentence that made the audience both laugh and be surprised: "I really don't know acting".

He explained that he himself does not have a specific concept of acting technique, everything is simply a natural expression.

What fans are most interested in is his answer about his ability to return to acting. Stephen Chow admitted that he is no longer as interested in acting as before.

However, immediately after that, he left open a possibility: "Perhaps I'm still waiting for a suitable role.

Stephen Chow also frankly shared the reason why for many years he mainly worked behind the scenes.

According to the 64-year-old star, currently the job of directing and handling backstage tasks alone has taken up a lot of time and energy. Because of his increasing age, he no longer has enough physical strength to both write scripts himself, direct himself, and play the main role himself as in his youth.

As the 7th film directed by Stephen Chow, "The Female Kungfu Team" is considered a spiritual continuation of "The Shaolin Team" after 25 years.

The film stars Truong Tieu Phi, Dich Le Nhiet Ba, Truong Nghe Hung in the main roles, along with former Chinese women's national football team players such as Trieu Le Na, Ly Giai Duyet.

As of 3:00 PM on July 30th, "The Kungfu Girl" has grossed 2.057 billion RMB (about 8,000 billion VND) after 20 days of screening, topping the box office revenue chart for this year's Chinese summer movie season, with nearly 60 million theater-goers.

Previously, during an exchange with audiences in Shenzhen (China), when asked if "Women's Kungfu Team" had part 2 or not, Stephen Chow decisively replied: "Yes! ".

Through this, he officially confirmed that the next part has been included in the production plan.

The goal of the Nga Mi team is to defeat the whole world. Now they have only defeated half, and half more in the future still have to be conquered. I hope I can continue to tell this story," Stephen Chow revealed the core idea for the next film.
