According to a press release issued on July 18, V-MAS said that the artist management contract was signed on a voluntary basis and is still legally valid to date. The company emphasized that it has not signed any document to liquidate or terminate any contract with Mai Phuong.
From there, V-MAS affirmed that Mai Phuong is still an artist directly under the exclusive management rights of the company according to the signed terms.
The announcement was made after July 16, Mai Phuong posted an announcement on her personal page about switching to independent operations and announcing a new contact point for work.
V-MAS believes that, while the contract is still valid, the company is still the legal representative unit for commercial, artistic, performance schedule, image management, name, as well as music products, digital products and other representative rights under the signed contract.
Notably, the company affirmed that no new individuals, organizations or teams other than V-MAS have the right to represent or trade for Mai Phuong without a contract termination agreement.
In addition, V-MAS also sent a warning to partners, brands, media units and advertising companies that all commercial transactions, performance contracts, sponsorship or use of Mai Phuong's image in the current period should be carried out through and with written approval from the company.
According to the announcement, contracts or transactions signed directly with Mai Phuong or through a new contact point announced by the female artist without V-MAS's approval may arise legal disputes. The company said it will take necessary measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law.
Up to now, Mai Phuong has not had an official response to V-MAS's latest announcement.
