Recently, many famous artists have violated the law. Most recently, designer Nguyen Cong Tri was arrested for drug-related crimes. On the afternoon of July 24, at the regular press conference for the second quarter of 2025 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST), a representative of the Department of Performing Arts expressed their views on this.
Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts affirmed the view that all artists are citizens and must comply with the provisions of the law. Once an artist violates the law, they must be handled in accordance with regulations, without exception.

According to Mr. Duong, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a Code of Conduct for people working in the art field. However, this Code only plays a role in encouraging artists to behave properly and comply with current regulations.
Artists have audiences, have fans. When the audience loses the trust, artists have nothing left, said Mr. Duong.
The list of Vietnamese artists involved in drug-related cases is getting longer and longer, raising concerns about the deterioration of ethics and social responsibility among celebrities. Most recently, Nguyen Cong Tri caused a stir in public opinion.
This incident continues a series of scandals of artists who have been involved in drug trafficking such as Chi Dan, Andrea Aybar, Nhikolai Dinh, Chu Bin, Le Hang, Huu Tin and Chau Viet Cuong.
The cases range from illegal possession, use to organization and trafficking of drugs, artists are prosecuted, detained or sentenced to prison, and have their artistic careers terminated.
