Responding to the fact that many beauty contests have recently taken place at the same time, including some programs that were judged unprofessional, Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts - said that the contests held at the same time in June were just a coincidence.
"The organizers can choose a good day, which can lead to a match schedule. Currently, the People's Committees of provinces and cities are authorized to grant licenses, often assigning the Departments of Culture - Sports (or the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to approve the dossier. We are re-nummarizing, if violations are detected, we will monitor and handle them," he said.
Mr. Duong also said that although the contests took place on the same day, they were held in different localities. In the coming time, the Department will coordinate with the Departments to strengthen control and ensure organizational standards.
Mr. Cao Le Tuan Anh - Chief of Office, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism - added that the Department of Performing Arts is reviewing and summarizing the implementation of Decree 144/2020/ND-CP on performing arts activities with localities. If it is found that the points are no longer suitable, the management agency will propose the Government to amend them.
Previously, on the evening of June 28, two beauty contests, Miss Earth Vietnam 2025 (held in Hai Phong) and Miss Sea Vietnam Global 2025 (in Quang Ninh) took place together, awarding the crown to 2 beauty queens and 6 runners-up.
Some audiences think that the programs are unprofessional, from staging to contestants.
Similarly, on the evening of August 3, 2024, the two contests of Miss Tourism Vietnam and Miss Grand Vietnam were held at the same time, continuing to cause controversy when there were 2 beauty queens and 6 runners-up crowned in one night.
