On July 9, Miss Puerto Rico 2025 Valeria Melendez officially announced the abandonment of her title. The announcement she shared on Instagram surprised the public.
Beauty Valeria Melendez wrote: "Today, I share a decision that I found difficult, but it came from self-respect. I have decided to give up the title of Miss dat Puerto Rico 2025".
The reason given by Valeria Melendez is that she admitted that she lacked the qualities to become the representative of Puerto Rico in the Miss Earth 2025 contest.
"This made me have to dialogue with myself many times. The crown is very noble, but I still have to accept the truth and respect my honesty," the beauty shared.
Valeria Melendez, 26, is a model and fashion designer. With a height of 1.68 m, she possesses a beautiful, sharp beauty and a charming figure. Valeria Melendez crowned Miss dat Puerto Rico 2025 on February 1.
Valeria Melendez graduated with a major in Business and Development Management. She also has a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and owns a sustainable fashion brand.
During her tenure as Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2025, she actively participated in activities to promote sustainable fashion to young people, changing awareness of fashion to limit waste and protect the environment. The beauty's giving up of the crown made many fans regretful.
Previously, in June, beauty Gabriela Vazquez - Miss Globe Puerto Rico 2025 also announced the abandonment of the title. These two Miss contests are both copyrighted by an organization.
