The Closing and Award Ceremony of the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival took place on the evening of July 4 with works and artists from Vietnam and Asia honored in important award categories.
Attending the closing ceremony were Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President; Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Tran Thanh Lam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission.
DANAFF IV is co-organized by the Da Nang City People's Committee and the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Cinema Development (VFDA), with the slogan "Bridgeing Asia to the World".
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Cinema Development (VFDA), Director of DANAFF IV, said that this year, DANAFF not only expands in scale but also expands in development thinking, continuing to introduce excellent cinematic works of Vietnam and Asia.
At the same time, strongly expand professional activities with DANAFF Talents such as Project Incubator - including new and very practical activities such as Script Lab, talent incubation acting workshop, Master Classes and especially DANAFF Industry Days being held for the first time.
To achieve the success of DANAFF, the generosity, hospitality and stature of the coastal city of Da Nang are indispensable. Not only a tourist destination, the city by the Han River has become an ideal launching pad, a center for converging and spreading world-class cultural and artistic values," Ms. Lan emphasized.
Director of DANAFF IV also expressed his desire that DANAFF is not only an event taking place in the seven days of summer but also becomes a film platform operating year-round. It is a meeting place for filmmakers, a space for new ideas, a bridge between Vietnam and Asia and from Asia reaching out to the world.
At the closing night, the Organizing Committee awarded the Most Favorite Vietnamese Film Award voted by the Audience to the movie "Hẹn em ngày nhật thực" (See you on a solar eclipse day).
