In order to find solutions to preserve and promote cultural and historical values, contributing to socio-economic development for Duy Nghia, the Da Nang City Historical Science Association, in coordination with Lao Dong Newspaper, Duy Nghia Commune People's Committee, organized a scientific seminar themed "Preserving and promoting the value of Trung Phuong ancient town port associated with the development of cultural tourism in the Southeast Da Nang region".
At the seminar, historical researchers, archaeologists, scholars and experts in culture, tourism, planning... and managers will discuss, offer interpretations, and find directions to preserve and promote the cultural and historical values of Trung Phuong ancient port city - a land adjacent to Hoi An, southeast of Cua Dai bridge, adjacent to the sea and island of Cu Lao Cham. Trung Phuong is an ancient port city, formed before and as a premise for Hoi An ancient city, but for many different historical reasons, it has faded and been "buried", currently only sediment.
The scientific research results that have been and will be published about this ancient port city will be linked and connected, thereby outlining the appearance of a trading point that once played an important role in Dang Trong land, and on the international maritime route.
The seminar will also focus on discussing specific solutions and actions. The focus is on proposing to bring ideas and orientations for adjusting planning, integrating into the general planning of Da Nang City after the merger, towards promoting investment, calling for potential projects to jointly "awaken" the heritage area, creating motivation for tourism development, improving the lives of local people, and developing the socio-economy of the southeastern Da Nang region.
Sharing before the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee of Duy Nghia commune said that all tourism restoration and development plans in Trung Phuong will be discussed in the near future, along with the implementation of climate change response and coastal erosion prevention projects. This is a prerequisite to preserve the living space of heritage, turning true cultural values into a sustainable development resource for the locality.
