Actress Le Ha Anh born in 1995 is a rare female character in the movie Red Rain. Before this film, Ha Anh had starred in the long-running TV series "Hoa Hong Giay" directed by Dang Thai Huyen.
In this collaboration, Ha Anh plays Hong - a girl driving a boat on the Thach Han River, carrying troops to the other side of the river at night, to the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel area to fight.
In a scene filmed in the rain, while standing holding the backpack of a soldier waiting on the bank of Thach Han River, partly because of the cold and partly because of fatigue, Ha Anh fainted right after this scene.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter about the behind-the-scenes of this scene, director - Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen said, "That scene shows a very heavy rain on the Thach Han River. With both real rain and rain created by the film crew, Ha Anh must have both emotions and endured the cold, so she fainted. After that scene, Ha Anh was transferred to the film crew's medical tent.
When I met her, Ha Anh did not complain or complain about the hardship. The first thing she told me was, "I'm not done yet, if I'm not done yet, I'll wait for you to rest a little and I'll go back".
That statement by Ha Anh really touched my heart. Not only her but all other staff and actors in the Red Rain film crew had extremely difficult filming days. No one complained. It is their dedication to this film that makes me unable to be reckless, unable to supervise.
As for Ha Anh, the actress shared that she had too many emotions when playing the role of Hong in "Red Rain".
"I have too many emotions, but I always have to suppress them and not express them. When I saw the scene under that rain, I was really shocked by emotion.
In my family, my grandfather was also a soldier who died in Quang Tri. Therefore, when participating in "Red Rain", I feel like I can connect with my grandfather, pay tribute to him and the martyrs who fell in this land.
I had the opportunity to learn rowing on the Thach Han River - an experience that not everyone has. I think this is the most precious memory of my life. I am grateful to have the opportunity to appear in this film" - Ha Anh said.
