Cam Temple was built in the 19th century, located in Cam Forest in Lao Cai Ward. This is a place of worship and commemoration of the merits of the Tran Dynasty's officers who heroically sacrificed their lives in the war to protect the country in the 13th century.
Not only has historical significance, Cam Temple is also an important religious space for local people. The temple worships the Lady Cam - a character honored by the people as a sacred god who has the merit of treating diseases and helping the poor.

In terms of architecture, the temple is built in the Dinh style, imbued with traditional architectural style. The roof of the temple consists of two soft curved floors, shaped like a boat, expressing the harmony between spiritual elements and natural landscape.
In 2001, Cam Temple was ranked as a National Historical - Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
According to research, the most recent restoration of Cam Temple was carried out in 2005. After 20 years of exploitation and use, many items of the relic have seriously degraded. The wooden structure system at the main hall is rotten, the roof is severely damaged, and must be covered with tarpaulin to avoid leakage during heavy rain.
In addition, the brick floor and steps are peeling and cracking over time. Some locations in the temple have to use long wooden trees for temporary protection, not in the original design, affecting the aesthetics and posing potential safety risks.

The deterioration of the relic not only affects religious activities and cultural activities of the people, but also affects the landscape of the relic, especially the safety of tourists from all over the world when coming to visit and celebrate.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in mid-December, at the national relic site of Cam Temple, many workers and machines have been mobilized to serve the construction work. From the main gate, the working atmosphere took place urgently.

Through observation, items such as the main temple and the auxiliary temple are being dismantled with layers of tiles for renovation, preparing for the next restoration steps according to the relic preservation process.
Mr. Nguyen Danh Trong (Lao Cai ward) shared: Cam Temple is a historical relic that has existed for a long time. After a long time of exposure to the sun and rain, the items have seriously degraded. Local people are looking forward to the restoration and embellishment soon, especially after the impact of the recent storm No. 3".

According to the leader of Lao Cai Ward People's Committee, the investment in restoration and embellishment of Cam Temple National Monument is to meet the religious needs of the people, while preserving and promoting the cultural and historical values of the monuments.
The project is invested by Lao Cai Ward Monument Management Board, with a total investment of more than 37.6 billion VND. Of which, the construction package is worth nearly 20 billion VND.
The implementation unit is Thai Minh Investment and Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company, implemented in the period of 2023 - 2026.
