Dai An Temple was built in the 19th century, an ancient communal house of the Tay Khao people called Buc Communal House in Buc village, Dai Boc commune, Yen Phu commune, Tran Yen district (now Mau A commune, Lao Cai province).
The sacred ancient temple is located on the banks of the Red River, long known as the religious center of the local people, preserving many unique cultural and historical values of the Mau A land.

The temple is the place to worship the three idols: Son Tinh, Cao Son, Quy Minh Dai Vuong - the successors of Lac Long Quan and Au Co. When the culture of indigenous ethnic groups blends with the residents, the worship of the Holy Mother Thuong Ngan (the hope of Mother Dong Cuong) is supplemented by the people, enriching the spiritual life here.
The temple not only has religious and folk cultural values but is also associated with the history of the local people's revolutionary struggle.

In 2013, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) ranked Dai An Temple as a Provincial Historical - Cultural Relic. Over many generations, this place has become a famous spiritual tourism destination in Lao Cai.
Every year, Dai An Temple has 5 main festivals attracting a large number of people and tourists to offer incense to express their respect to the three sacred animals and the Holy Mother of the Snake...
However, over time and affected by floods, especially the recent storms No. 3 (September 2024) and No. 10, some items have been degraded and damaged such as leaky roof systems, cracked walls, and ent ent entomental pole systems... not ensuring aesthetics and safety for people and tourists when coming to worship.

Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Ha Duc Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Mau A commune, said that after a long time, Dai An temple has deteriorated, affecting the religious and festival needs of the people and tourists.

In which, the main temple is 243m2 wide, the architecture simulates Dong Cuong temple - a cultural symbol of the upper reaches of the Red River but has been adjusted to suit local conditions.
The total estimated investment is over 104 billion VND from socialized sources and other legal capital sources (100% of legally mobilized capital of domestic organizations and individuals). The implementation period is from 2025 to 2027.

Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee assigned Mau A Commune People's Committee as the investor to implement the planning and project management. The implementation must ensure compliance with traditional customs and practices, with the participation of experts to ensure the preservation of the architecture, landscape, historical and cultural values of the relic.
