When will Vietnamese stars be "big" if they are late or late?

Nguyên Linh |

The incident of Huynh Anh being accused of being irresponsible when arriving late in a program continues to make many people bored with the late culture of Vietnamese stars.

1001 reasons for being late

In recent days, the public has been stirred up by the incident of comedian Viet Huong livestreaming "accusing" Huynh Anh of being unprofessional when being late, causing the entire nearly 100-person crew to wait. Immediately afterwards, Huynh Anh admitted and apologized to the public, however, the program's organizers confirmed that they would not work with Huynh Anh anymore.

This is not the first time Vietnamese stars have been reminded for being late in programs and events and it is unknown how long, being late has become a " problem" in Vietnamese showbiz. Almost the main character of the Miss Vietnam 2016 press conference, Ky Duyen "disappeared" until half the meeting, or Minh Tu was an hour late at The Face 2017 press conference, causing the Thai judge and all reporters to wait.

The fact that Vietnamese stars are late seems to have become a normal thing and if they are late, the common reasons given will be traffic jams, lack of makeup time or sudden illness like the cases of Huynh Anh and Minh Tu. Even being late will "help" that star's name to appear in a series of newspapers and who knows, many people take advantage of that to deliberately come late to get the spotlight.

Late in showing class

A few years ago, Ngo Thanh Van once wrote a long letter to the "juniors" because he was late in an event that many people had to wait. "I was not suitable as an artist anymore. Because of being an artist, he had to spend time make up, tone three events and had to be nearly two hours late to be noticed, to be thought to be class A. At that time, I could make other important things more meaningful to life," Ngo Thanh Van was annoyed because of "late culture" of Vietnamese stars.

In the face of Huynh Anh's "disappearance" and 78 phone calls, artist Viet Huong also had to express: "I don't know what kind of star you are. You also need to respect artists. You stay up all night filming somewhere, we stay up late to make money... In life, for beauty, you have to be good and try to be better.

Or like Lukkade, a supermodel from Thailand, when asked about her feelings when having to wait for Vietnamese coaches for 2 hours at The Face press conference, calmly replied: "I am a professional, so if the program is scheduled, I will come earlier". A simple statement but many people think that Lukkade is implying teaching many Vietnamese stars how to become more professional.

Everyone has a reason to justify being late, however, lack of professionalism is the first thing to proven and that is increasingly making many people shake their heads in dismay when mentioning young showbiz stars.
