Implementing Decision No. 859/QD-BVHTTDL dated April 16, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Cinema presides over and coordinates with Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Departments of Culture and Arts, Centers for Culture and Arts, Cultural Centers of provinces and cities directly under the Central Government, Viettel Telecom Corporation (Viettel Telecom) and TV360 Television Service Center to organize a film series to celebrate major holidays April 30, May 1, May 7, May 19, 2026 nationwide, from April 25 to May 23, 2026.
This is a cultural and film activity with profound political and social significance, contributing to educating historical traditions, fostering and promoting patriotism, revolutionary heroism, spirit of solidarity, national pride and self-reliance and self-strengthening spirit.
Through selected cinematic works with artistic quality, humanistic content and healthy entertainment, the film series spreads good cultural values, vividly reflects social life, history and national traditions, meets the spiritual cultural enjoyment needs of the people, and creates a joyful atmosphere towards major political events in 2026.
Within the framework of the program, the Opening Ceremony of the Film Festival Commemorating Major Holidays in 2026 and Quang Ninh Film Week welcoming summer will take place at 7:00 PM on April 25, 2026 at the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace.
This is one of the opening activities of the "Quang Ninh Province Culture, Sports, Tourism Week welcoming summer 2026" with the theme "Ha Long Carnaval 2026 - A Wonder to Shine the New Era".
In order to expand access to high-quality cinematic works to a large audience, the Cinema Department in coordination with Viettel Telecom and TV360 brings the feature film "Địa đạo - Mặt trời trong bóng tối" and selected films in the Film Tour to audiences through the TV360 digital platform and mobile film screening system in 34 provinces and cities across the country.
The film program includes many rich genres. In the feature film segment, there are "Địa đạo - Mặt trời trong bóng tối" (Hoan Khue Film Production Joint Stock Company), documentaries such as "Theo dấu chân cha" (Vietking Media Joint Stock Company), "Bác sĩ ở xã đảo" (Doctor in the island commune) (Giải Phóng Film Joint Stock Company), "Cựu binh phố cổ" (Old soldiers of the ancient town) (HDA Film Co., Ltd.), "Giấy dó - the journey back home", "Hai chiến tuyến" (Two battle lines) (Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio).
The animated film segment includes "Little Boy", "Dien Bien Promise", "Warm Light", "Colorful Marbles", "Poocbaga" produced by Vietnam Animation Studio Joint Stock Company.
Notably, the movie "Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" was chosen to be shown in the Opening Ceremony.
The Organizing Committee plans to invite the film crew and actors to interact with audiences in Quang Ninh, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of propaganda and spreading the value of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema in contemporary life.
