Forming a tourism development alliance
Recently, Dien Bien is looking for new directions in the province's tourism development strategy when entities operating in the fields of culture, tourism and services aim to build a product chain imbued with Dien Bien identity.
According to Director of Dien Bien Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hai Ha, in the coming time, the tourism industry will coordinate with clubs, community tourism villages and businesses to build a product chain associated with local cultural values.

The goal is to create more experiences for tourists, while improving the efficiency of exploiting existing cultural resources.
According to PV's investigation, art performances and traditional craft performances will be organized regularly at tourist attractions, accommodation establishments and public spaces to bring local culture closer to tourists.
In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will send specialized people to train and support communication for clubs.
At the same time, build stimulus programs in the low season and strengthen links between units to create motivation for tourism development in the period 2026 - 2027.
Stimulating demand in the low season, targeting the high-spending customer segment
One of the contents that received much attention is the solution to stimulate tourism demand during the low season.
According to Mr. Tran Hai Ha, the tourism industry calls on accommodation establishments to reduce room rates to attract tourists, and at the same time implement preferential programs for journalists, KOLs and KOCs.
In return, those who enjoy incentives will participate in promoting Dien Bien's image, destinations and tourism products through communication products on digital platforms.

Responding to this idea, a representative of Muong Thanh Luxury Dien Bien Hotel said that the unit is ready to reduce room rates but still maintain the quality of accompanying services to contribute to stimulating tourism demand.
Night economy activities are also mentioned by many delegates as a solution to extend the length of stay and increase tourist spending.
In which, Muong Thanh pedestrian street - located in the center of Dien Bien Phu ward, near points belonging to the National Special Historical Relic Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and on the banks of the Nam Rom River - is expected to become a new cultural, entertainment and experiential space.
In parallel with developing community tourism and cultural products, Dien Bien is targeting the segment of customers with high spending capacity.

From the beginning of 2026 to now, Dien Bien province has also approved two 18-hole golf course projects, including the project at the new urban area, resort tourism and sports services in the Northwest and the urban, commercial, tourism, service and Huoi Pha golf course project.
Talking to PV, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Hai Ha said that these projects will contribute to supplementing high-quality resort, sports and entertainment tourism products, targeting long-term accommodation groups, and creating more jobs for local workers.
In the first 6 months of 2026, Dien Bien welcomed about 990,000 visitors, reaching 61.9% of the annual plan and increasing 1.2 times compared to the same period last year. Total revenue from tourism reached 1,794 billion VND. The whole province currently has 251 accommodation establishments with more than 3,300 rooms, 6 travel businesses and 11 recognized tourist destinations.
